Windows XP Firewall
WinXP sp2 has a stronger firewall than previous versions of Windows. There are times when we are troubleshooting that the firewall must be disabled. There are times when we have other software we use for firewall protection. Below you will find the settings to apply or remove, with clickable links with pictures.

1.	There are a few ways to get to the Firewall settings: a) Start, Settings, Control Panel, Windows Firewall, double click the Windows Firewall icon. b) Start, Control Panel, Windows Firewall, double click the Windows Firewall icon. c) Start, Network connections, Firewall [left column]
2.	General Tab: Turn on the firewall [if you have no firewall this is how you would activate the WinXP sp2 Firewall]
3.	General Tab: Turn off the firewall.
4.	Exceptions Tab: This is where one adds programs, ports which are to be allowed to be accessible. If one has the firewall enabled - this will allow certain programs to work that would otherwise be blocked by the firewall.
5.	Advanced Tab: Uncheck the box next to your Internet connection.
